Charlie Chaplin once said “A day without laughter is a day wasted.”

One thing I learned very early working with Abby Yenser and Cody Zerbe (no relation) is that these two will never waste a single day as long as they are side by side. Together, they share a laugh like no other which made their engagement session such a joy. As I parted ways with these two, I was eagerly awaiting to be in their presence again on their wedding day!

On the morning of September 15th, Photojournalist, Tami Bennecoff and I arrived to Stokesay Castle full of energy and ready to kick off the day.

Our first stop of the morning was with Cody. Both he and his groomsmen were preparing for their day inside the groom’s suite. Cody’s navy suit and pink tie combination were perfect for him! Not only was he wedding material but he was also GQ magazine material.

After a few images with Cody and his groomsmen, we met with Abby in the bridal suite. Abby was full of energy and very excited. Laughter was a constant during our morning with the girls and we wouldn’t have had it any other way.

Before long, it was time to make our way over to the Alsace Lutheran Church for the couple’s ceremony. The stage was set with just one essential piece missing, our lovely bride and groom. As the ceremony began, both filled with tears as they entered the room. Their love for one another was on display and it was a wonderful sight to behold.

After the ceremony and family photos (side note: these two both have very extended families) we took a few photos inside of the church with our bride and groom. One of the more interesting photos was the selective color image we did. This is an older style that is utilized far less than it was just five years ago.

It was then time to make our way over to Stokesay Castle for the rest of formal portraits and the evening’s reception. Upon our arrival, we walked around the grounds capturing beautiful portraits of our newly married couple. It was a wonderful time and we had each other laughing throughout the process.

With formal portraits done, it was soon time for the wedding reception. With the little time we had left, Tami and myself captured some details of the reception. We find it extremely important to focus on the details!

Our couple entered into their reception to a loud roar from their family and friends and proceeded right into their first dance to Ray LaMontagne’s, You Are The Best Thing. Their dance was fun and I could not have imagined it any other way.Their relationship is truly admirable.

Fun is best word to describe the rest of this wedding. From the cake cutting to the garter and bouquet toss; this night was a blast!

To end our day with Abby and Cody, we walked outside to the infamous Stokesay fountain for a night photo. With a little light manipulation, we were able to capture this stunning photo of our couple!

We loved working with Abby and Cody, and we were definitely sad when the day was over. These two are wonderful to work with and I can’t wait to work with them more in the future.
